Let me be real for a minute: when you elope with the one you love, there’s absolutely NOTHING you care about more than simply marrying your forever boo. This concept is so intriguing to me, and it’s part of the reason I agreed to Erin & Luke’s adventure elopement request.
Erin & Luke had originally planned on having a big wedding, but after feeling the pressures and politics that came along planning a big wedding, they were discouraged. I received an email from Erin asking to do an elopement with just her, her fiancé, and me (the loyal photographer). I instantly agreed, because of how uniquely Erin & Luke wanted to celebrate marriage.
Long story short, after 10 miles of hiking with their wedding clothes still on hangers–the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York.
After this elopement, I realized a few things:
- Getting married shouldn’t entail all of this unnecessary pressure, whether that comes from family members or even social media. A wedding should not be a burden but rather, a celebration of two becoming one!
- At the end of the day, if you’re married…that’s all that matters.
- Lastly, the covenant of marriage is so precious and it doesn’t matter where you commit your lives to each other as long as you’re together. All in all, you’ll have an awesome experience with your boo and you’ll be married too!
