For Gabby and Nick’s Michigan engagement photos in Grand Rapids they wanted editorial, film-inspired engagement photos and they got it! I’ve been loving incorporating more flash into my daytime sessions, so I used a mix of flash and natural light throughout their session.
Editorial Engagement Photos in Michigan
Editorial photos have a glam look and feel like they belong in a published magazine! I knew downtown Grand Rapids would be an ideal location for the editorial and “in the city” look they were going for. We started their session at one of my favorite buildings downtown and then ended with rooftop photos as the sun was setting. Location is huge in helping create the type of look you want in photos! For example, photos in a park with lots of greenery wouldn’t have passed the vibe. Instead, the downtown location has a lot of neutral tones and classic architecture that fit more with the vision Gabby and Nick had.
Editorial Engagement Session Outfits
Gabby and Nick’s outfit choices really pulled everything together! They went with timeless and classic looks and wore neutral-toned clothing that looked incredible next to each other. Gabby wore two different white dresses with fun and flirty heels. One detail I loved was Gabby’s pearl studded mesh gloves with her first white dress. So fun!
These two were so fun and giggly together which makes me so excited to photograph their wedding this fall!
