Lindsey and Trey’s beach wedding in South Carolina was the most magical weekend! They had an outdoor ceremony on the beach followed by sunset portraits and an intimate dinner on the deck of the Airbnb home with their friends and family. To end the night, they took a dip in the ocean!
I know Trey and Lindsey from college. They are both from Pennsylvania, but Trey got a job in Hilton Head, SC, so they decided to have their wedding in their new town! They rented out an incredible Airbnb with beach access where the entire wedding took place!
Beach Wedding in South Carolina
The day of the wedding Lindsey and Trey both got ready at the home. Then we went outside for their first look and portraits beneath the shade of massive trees covered in Spanish Moss. Trey and Lindsey are so cute and loving together that their portraits felt effortless!
When it was time for their wedding ceremony, everyone made the short walk from the home to the beach. They had a sweet ceremony with ocean views and exchanged vows they had written to one another. After the ceremony, we took family photos and wedding party photos on the beach.
As the sun was setting we took warm, glowy portraits of Lindsey and Trey on the beach. I’m obsessed with how their sunset photos turned out and you need to scroll through the blog to see the rest!
Next, they went back to their Airbnb for a candlelit dinner and toasts on the deck of the house. As the night was coming to an end, Trey and Lindsey, and their friends decided to end the night with an ocean swim. We headed back to the beach and they ran into the water! One bridesmaid came out with a fish attached to her dress. Oops!
Lindsey and Trey are a DREAM couple and I’m so happy we were able to be part of their destination beach wedding in South Carolina!
Tips for Finding a Wedding Airbnb or VRBO
The home that Lindsey and Trey rented for their wedding in Hilton Head, SC was so ideal for a wedding! Airbnb has updated rules about hosting events/parties at properties, so contact the host and do your research beforehand. VRBO might be worth looking into or companies that rent out vacation homes. Regardless, if you’re looking into renting a home for your wedding, here are a few things to look for and think about:
- Getting Ready Space: Is there space for you, your partner, and your wedding party to get ready? Are the rooms or areas of the house pretty for photos (not super cluttered with decor, neutral color walls, etc.)?
- Is there outdoor space around the house for photos? Are there shaded areas? Will you need to drive somewhere for photos?
- Where can you do your ceremony? At the house? Near the home?
- Is there a space at the home for a reception dinner? Or will you go off-site to a local restaurant?
- Are there homes or hotels nearby for family and friends to book?
