Megan and Matt’s September wedding at Leona Rd was my first time photographing a wedding at this new venue in Grand Rapids and it’s a stunning space! Their wedding decor and colors had a lot of dark green and earthy tones which set the mood for a fall wedding in Michigan!
Wedding at Leona Rd
The day of the wedding both bridesmaids and groomsmen got ready at the venue. Leona Rd has an incredible bridal suite with modern decor and lots of beautiful natural light from the windows. Once Megan was ready she did a reveal with her bridesmaids before we headed out for her and Matt’s first look.
We did their first look at one of my favorite rooftop locations in downtown Grand Rapids. Next, we met up with their wedding party at a park for group photos and more portraits of Megan and Matt. I loved the emerald green bridesmaid dresses that Megan’s bridesmaids wore! It really set the tone for a fall wedding!
Leona Rd Wedding Ceremony & Reception
At the Leona Rd, they had an indoor ceremony. One of my favorite parts of their ceremony was watching them walk back down the aisle after their first kiss. They had the biggest smiles on their faces!
Before the reception began, Megan did a hair style change and added sheer sleeves with pearls to her dress. I was obsessed with her reception look! At the reception, they did their first dances and toasts. We ended their night with a sparkler exit where they nailed a dip kiss!
About Weddings at Leona Rd
Leona Rd is a new wedding and event venue in Grand Rapids near downtown. Leona Rd used to be an elementary school and has been renovated into a modern Scandinavian-style event space. The venue can host up to 300 people and includes parking on-site. Along with their beautiful indoor spaces, they have an outdoor terrace that can be used for cocktail hour. The venue also comes with in-house full-service bar catering, which means that’s one less vendor you have to book! I love venues that allow couples to have both their ceremony and reception in one place and Leona Rd makes that possible.
