This engagement session at Silver Lake Sand Dunes made me fall in love with this location all over again. Malia and Ryan had been to the dunes once before, and after seeing photos of my previous sessions here they knew taking engagement photos at Silver Lake Sand Dunes was a must! There’s a reason the sand dunes are literally one of my most popular locations for Michigan engagement photos!
Malia and Ryan’s engagement session outfit choices were on point! Neutral color outfits always photograph well in outdoor locations. The light sand allowed Malia’s gorgeous black dress to stand out next to Ryan’s white shirt. To end their engagement session, they popped a bottle of champagne and enjoyed a drink together! I’m so looking forward to photographing Malia and Ryan’s wedding soon!
Engagement Photos at Silver Lake Sand Dunes
The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are located right outside of Mears, MI. The sand dunes border Lake Michigan on the west side and Silver Lake to the east. This place is literally the Sahara desert of Michigan! It’s the perfect location for photos with a desert or beach feel without having to travel far. The dunes are open from April 1st to October 31st, so it’s a great option for engagement photos during the spring, summer, and fall in Michigan. I’ve photographed several sessions at the dunes, so I know all the best spots!
P.S. A session at the sand dunes is like going to the beach because you’ll leave with sand EVERYWHERE. Despite the sand, photos at the Silver Lake Dunes are always WORTH IT!
