The fall colors were on fire for Cassie and Bruno’s elopement in downtown Grand Rapids! I first took Cassie and Bruno’s engagement photos earlier in 2023 and they tied the knot in November.
For their portraits we started with a first look and then hit up some of my favorite locations around downtown near the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Cassie and Bruno’s photos are a mix of classic portraits, creamy film-inspired photos, and fun flash photos from inside a hotel! As a local Grand Rapids photographer, I’m an expert at locations around Grand Rapids and especially in the downtown area! I have a few favorite areas and hotels that never disappoint!
How to Elope in Grand Rapids, MI
If planning a small, intimate elopement feels more like your vibe over a big wedding, you can easily plan a beautiful day in Grand Rapids! You could have a ceremony at the courthouse or have an officiant and two witnesses with you for a ceremony at a location that you both love! Explore downtown while you do wedding portraits. To end the day, hit up a few local bars or restaurants!
If a more private feel out in nature aligns better with your vision for an elopement, there are several beautiful parks in Grand Rapids and outside the city like Kirk Park. Silver Lake Sand Dunes is another favorite location with its magical dunes that border Lake Michigan.
