Alysa and Charlie’s intimate Northern Ireland Elopement on the Causeway Coast was a completely SURREAL experience. These two are from South Carolina and love traveling, so they decided to elope in an epic destination. Hello Northern Ireland! They eloped at Kinbane Castle and Dunluce Castle which are along the Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland.

Alysa and Charlie connected with me through their videographer, Jonah Paulhaumus, and flew us out in July to capture their summer elopement in Ireland. We flew into Dublin and spent a day exploring Belfast together. Then we headed to the Causeway Coast to spend a few more days before Alysa and Charlie’s actual elopement.
Elopement at Kinbane Castle
The morning of their elopement, Alysa and Charlie got ready separately and finished handwriting their vows for the ceremony. They did a first look in the Airbnb before we headed to the first spot for their ceremony.
Kinbane Castle is located outside of Ballycastle and dates back to 1547. Though there isn’t much left of the castle now, the ruins sit on a headland leading out to the sea. Alysa & Charlie started with their ceremony. They read the vows they wrote to each other and even did a handfasting ceremony!
Next, we spent time taking portraits all around the area. What made Kinbane Castle the perfect Northern Ireland elopement location was that it really offered everything you could want in Ireland wedding photos. It has rugged cliffs, ocean views, ancient ruins, and lush greenery which you probably envision when you think of Ireland. We really were living in a dream!
Dunluce Castle Elopement
Eventually, we headed to their second Northern Ireland elopement location, Dunluce Castle, which was down the road about 25 minutes. Set on the cliffs along the Causeway Coast, is the incredible medieval castle ruins of Dunluce. Dunluce is one of the more popular castles in Ireland and it’s evident why! The crashing ocean views with a massive castle along a cliff is hard to beat! We ended their elopement with epic, windblown photos with Dunluce Castle in the background and I’m obsessed with how they turned out!
After their Northern Ireland elopement, Alysa and Charlie went off to Italy for a cruise! When they returned to the U.S. they had a big reception to celebrate with all their friends and family!
Traveling to Europe and exploring Ireland with Alysa and Charlie leading up to their elopement was such a privilege! I will NEVER get over the fact that my once “little side hustle” brought me to Ireland for an elopement!!! Someone pinch me!
