Katie and Nick’s summer wedding at The Cheney Place in Grand Rapids, MI was such a sweet day at one of my FAVORITE wedding venues!
Grand Rapids Wedding at The Cheney Place
After getting ready, Katie and Nick started with a first look. Nick seriously had the best first look reaction face. And no he wasn’t crying, but purely so excited! After their first look we had plenty of time for bridal portraits of the two of them throughout The Cheney. We took advantage of the incredible indoor space and the cool vintage furniture the venue has to offer!
After their portraits, we went to a nearby outdoor spot for wedding party photos. Since we took majority of their photos before the ceremony, all we had left after were family photos. This allowed Katie and Nick to hang out with guests during cocktail hour. I love wedding timelines that allow couples to actually enjoy their day!

The Cheney Place is an urban wedding venue located near downtown Grand Rapids. Whether you stay inside the venue or venture to nearby locations, the photo options are limitless!
Neon signs are 100% the vibe for wedding receptions! Katie and Nick had a neon sign with “The Simons” on it that hung above their sweetheart table! They also have a French bulldog that couldn’t be at the wedding, so instead they found a little cake topper of a Frenchie. Such a fun way to include your pet on your wedding day if they can’t be there!
Katie and Nick are the nicest couple that I’ve loved getting to know throughout their wedding journey! Their family and friends were amazing to be around and it was clear that everyone at their wedding loved celebrating these two!
