Gabby and Nick’s September wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club in Michigan was a long awaited day for these high school sweethearts. They had their wedding ceremony at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and a gorgeous wedding reception at the Cherry Creek Golf Club.
Gabby and Nick have been together for almost 12 years. You could tell they were so ready to get married and their friends and family were excited to celebrate them! We did their engagement photos in Grand Rapids and I knew their wedding day would be so much fun!
Getting Ready & Ceremony at St. John Vianney
Gabby and her bridal party got ready at her parent’s home which was a beautiful home for photos! Gabby put in a lot of thought and time curating her wedding day details. She had everything ready and gathered for me to photograph. Once she was ready, she did a first look with her dad and then with her bridal party.
Next, everyone headed to St. John Vianney Church for the ceremony. This church is one of the most stunning churches I’ve seen and had great natural light! The moment Gabby was most looking forward to on her wedding was walking down the aisle with her parents and seeing Nick’s reaction. Nick turned around right before Gabby came into view and then turned to face her when she started walking down the aisle with her parents. You can tell he was trying to hold it together!
After the ceremony, we made our way to the Cherry Creek Golf Club for wedding party photos and portraits of Gabby and Nick.
Wedding at Cherry Creek Golf Club
Their wedding reception took place at Cherry Creek Golf Club which is north of Detroit in Shelby Township, MI. White flowers, baby’s breath, and white and gold details created a timeless and sophisticated feel in the reception space. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside before heading inside for the reception. For the reception entrance, their bridal party walked in carrying letters to spell “The Palmers.” It created such an epic and exciting entrance! Right away Gabby and Nick did a champagne tower pour and cut the cake!
After dinner they listened to toasts from the wedding party and did their first dance! After first dances with their parents, everyone was ready for the dancing and party to really begin. I snuck them out for a few fun flash portraits before letting them get back to dancing the night away!
